Great Article! I love making new recipes up by finding whatever I have in the kitchen. I always try to have a solid mix of different types of meats, veggies and fruits to keep things balanced.

I always prefer to go shopping on an full stomach so I usually go after lunch while my husband is at work, that way I spend less and buy better quality whole foods. I also have to agree that Chinese and processed foods are unhealthy and are a large contributor to empty calories with no real nutritional value.

These are very good tips. I also suggesting keeping your diet balanced by eating small portion types with 300-600 calories per meal, 5-6 times per day to speed your metabolism up. I also try to eat my the load of my calories in the morning so I have the entire day to burn them as opposed to eating a heavy meal like spaghetti in the evening which piles on the carbs.

Also, eating whole foods is more nutritious and will lower your grocery bill! :P
